What FRRR Does

What FRRR Does FRRR provides an opportunity for business, philanthropy, government and the community to work together to improve regional, rural and remote communities' capacity to respond positively to the challenges facing rural Australia.

FRRR is well placed to use new approaches to regional and rural development as we are able to facilitate partnerships and mentor relationships which may otherwise not have happened, we support the development of regional community foundations, and provide project funding and challenge grants to move regional development project funding into a more dynamic context.

The three key programs of Rural Capacity Building, Information and Grantmaking are set out below FRRR seeks to support regional, rural and remote communities to develop and diversify their activities through

  • Rural capacity building program
  • Information and training programs
  • The provision of grants for rural development projects with the aim of improving the social, cultural, environmental and economic well being of rural Australia.

Organisational Model

In looking at the need to find new ways of creating long-term viable rural and regional communities the strategic focus for 2006 will be:

  • Developing and Promoting partnership projects
  • Developing specialised projects and programs
  • Supporting Small Grants for Small Rural Communities
  • Continue to encourage community philanthropy through Community Foundations
