Back to School Program
The Back to School Program (BTS) is a national program which has been operating since 2005 and provides $50 gift vouchers from Target or local providers, to students in need. These vouchers are redeemable for items such as school uniforms, clothing, shoes, school bags and stationery items. The program has been supported by various trusts and foundations, particularly the Sidney Myer Fund whose generosity, together with FRRR, has been the financial backbone of the program.
The program is based on an Expression of Interest submission and level of need within the community. Those who take part in the program enter into a Grant Agreement with FRRR, with specific and defined distribution and reporting requirements. Participating organisations administer the program at their own cost.
Help rural students enjoy educational equality, from cradle to career.
We are seeking corporate or philanthropic partners to raise new funds of $250,000 for the 2014 'Back To School' program – to meet the Sidney Myer Fund challenge grant. They have committed $250,000, subject to FRRR raising matching dollars. If you would like to be involved, review this brochure about how you can support the Back to School Program.
We also welcome donations from individuals which we can put towards this program. You can donate online - even a small donation means another child gets the school year off to a great start.
