Caring for the Aged in Rural Australia
The Foundation for Rural and Regional Renewal (FRRR) today announced sixteen successful applicants for the Caring for Aged in Rural Australia Program (CARA).
Ms Alexandra Gartmann, CEO of FRRR highlighted the importance of the program. “Care and support of the aged in our rural communities is an ever challenging role for not for profit and community organisations. As society ages and we have a greater number of people requiring specific care, it is important that we assist rural people to remain in the communities and rural landscapes they are connected to. This program provides funds for organisations operating in rural communities who are often under pressure to fundraise for new equipment and facility upgrades.”
The Caring for Aged in Rural Australia Program, administered by FRRR, is a collaborative program supported by The Sylvia and Charles Viertel Foundation (managed by ANZ Trustees) and The Estate of the Late Harold Gordon Jones (managed by Perpetual Trustees).
“We thank our generous donors, whose ongoing support of this highly relevant program enables it to reach rural communities in Queensland, and the Shires of Gilgandra and Warren, NSW.
We invite individuals, Trusts and Foundations to contribute to this important program and support additional rural communities care for their aged across Australia” said Ms Gartmann.
