Daylesford, a small but buzzing community of 3,000 residents, is located at the foot of the Great Dividing Range in Victoria's Hepburn Shire.  The Girl Guides are an integral part of this community.  Many community groups use the Girl Guides Hall, including the local secondary college which holds its VCE exams there.

The Guides Group work proudly and tirelessly to ensure that the hall is maintained to the best possible standard.  With fundraising and working bees the norm and past work on the exterior of the building being done as funds became available, the west side of the building and the front doors were still in desperate need of replacement.

With funds most generously provided by the Becher Foundation through the FRRR Small Grants for Small Rural Communities Program, the repairs are complete.  The group is delighted with the final results.  Their satisfaction is shared by the community.

It is no coincidence that, with the upgrades completed, booking for use of the Hall flooded in. January saw a successful Singers Festival and several workshops conducted.

Thanks to FRRR, the Hall now takes its rightful place as a focus of activities in Daylesford.
