Small Grants, Big Changes!
The Foundation for Rural and Regional Renewal (FRRR) is delighted to announce the 103 successful applicants for the May 2012 round of the Small Grants for Small Rural Communities Program.
“We continue to be amazed and inspired by the solutions that small rural, regional and remote communities develop to address local issues. Congratulations to all those communities that have been successful in receiving support for their project. I look forward to reading the final reports as they come through, confirming the great outcomes that I’m sure will eventuate,” said Ms Alexandra Gartmann, CEO of FRRR.
FRRR recognises the considerable time and effort put into each and every application received. In this grant round, we received more than 800 applications seeking funds in excess of $3.4 million, an unprecedented number of applications. Although FRRR has been able to support 103 projects, many more proposals were highly regarded and are deserving of support. Unfortunately however, given the large number of requests and the limited amount of funds available, we were unable to fund as many projects as we would have wished.
We are currently working hard to source other funding in the hope of being able to award another round of grants in near future. In the meantime, any unsuccessful applicants who wish to receive further feedback or discuss a future project idea, can contact the FRRR office on 1800 170 020 or email info@frrr.org.au
