Foundation for Rural & Regional Renewal (FRRR) Community Report 2003-2005

As many of you know the Foundation for Rural & Regional Renewal – FRRR is a unique philanthropic organisation in Australia. We are a charitable organisation with a difference. Founded in early 2000 as a partnership between the Sidney Myer Fund and the Commonwealth Government via the Department of Transport & Regional Services, FRRR is actively supporting the renewal or rural and regional Australia.

After five years of operation FRRR has many, many examples of how communities across all of rural and regional Australia are helping themselves. FRRR has been able to accelerate this process of renewal through the generosity of many partners who care about the future of rural and regional Australia. FRRR has given $7.25M and still has invested the original sum given by the Government. This model of perpetuity and giving is an example to all.

FRRR works with dedicated individuals, socially committed organisations and corporations to promote local development and individual work opportunities in rural and regional Australia alongside the three levels of government and other trusts and foundations to benefit all ages and all communities in country Australia.

This report tells only many some of the stories of the steps so far taken to help communities help themselves. FRRRs role is to back these communities and find tangible ways to provide support for local initiatives.
