Australia Post grant program to benefit youth

Youth in regional NSW are set to benefit from an Australia Post small grants program called Stretching

 the Envelope.

The program offers small grants of between $500 and $1000 to organisations based in and around Albury, Bathurst, Tamworth,Casino, Kempsey, Wagga Wagga and Gosford, to help them implement youth and children’s education programs with a literacy, cultural or arts focus.

Australia Post spokesperson, Scott McIntyre, said the grant program is part of Australia Post’s ongoing commitment to supporting regional communities.

“We hope the Stretching the Envelope grants will make a positive contribution to the education and

cultural development of the children and youth of a community that so many of our people live

and work in.

“We’ve tried to make the application process as easy as we can and encourage any organisation running a children’s or youth education program to submit an application if they think they would be helped by

one of these grants,” he said.

Application forms for the Stretching the Envelope small grants program can be obtained from

Australia Post outlets or from FRRR, by calling 1800 170 020 or visiting their website at www.frrr.org.au. Applications close on 23 October 2009 and must be mailed to FRRR.

In 2009, Stretching the Envelope will make $30 000 worth of grants to worthy organisations in and around Albury, Bathurst, Tamworth, Casino, Kempsey, Wagga Wagga and Gosford.
