A Program Assisting Small Victorian Dairy Communities and the wider community
As part of its Community Development Program, the Gardiner Foundation has again contracted FRRR to deliver its Small Grants Program to fund worthwhile projects in rural and regional Victoria. The focus of the Program in 2009 will be toward:
Strengthening and Building Capacity in Small Victorian Dairy Communities
The Gardiner Foundation will make available to FRRR up to a total of $100,000 to fund $5,000 grants for innovative and well targeted community-driven projects which propose concepts intended to assist in strengthening small Victorian dairying communities, building their capacity to deal with local issues and enhancing existing community infrastructure.
Working in Dairy Communities Program Guidelines
What can be funded?
· Projects and activities that offer clear public benefit for communities in small rural and remote locations in Victoria, that contribute to their development in social and community welfare, economic, environmental, health, education or cultural areas, and are for a charitable purpose.
· Applications from communities with a population of 5,000 or less will receive priority and must be in a recognised Victorian dairying area.
· Grants will be made in amounts of up to $5,000.
· Priority will be given to projects that assist in strengthening of small rural communities, building their capacity to deal with local issues, or enhancing of existing community infrastructure.
· Organisations should have an ABN.
The program aims to be simple, making the application process for a grant as straight forward as possible. Projects should be:
· Community driven
· Show creativity and innovation in the manner in which they seek to solve a particular problem
· Have clearly defined outcomes of benefit to Victorian Dairy Communities, and the broader community, and timelines for delivery of those outcomes
· Show evidence of leveraging other financial and/or in-kind support.
