Seeds of Renewal grants to sprout community projects
Grants up to $10,000 creating education and employment opportunities
ANZ and the Foundation for Rural and Regional Renewal (FRRR) today announced that as part of the 2013 Seeds of Renewal program, 41 communities across rural, regional and remote Australia will share $250,000 in grants.
Tania Motton, ANZ General Manager Regional Business Banking, said that since 2003 the Seeds of Renewal program has provided more than $3 million to over 635 community projects across Australia.
“A key part of our Banking on Australia program is supporting local communities, and the Seeds of Renewal program demonstrates ANZ’s commitment to making a difference in regional Australia.
“Regional communities are seeing real change as a result of this program, and we’re pleased to be able to provide support for things like training and employment for youth and indigenous people, and health and drug education programs to remote primary and high school students,” Ms Motton said.
Alexandra Gartmann, FRRR Chief Executive Officer, said philanthropic support for local communities is a catalyst, building capacity and strengthening sustainable outcomes.
“The challenges in local communities are often best solved by local people. A ‘hand-up’ can enable a transformation, and we are delighted to be able to provide this through Seeds of Renewal grants,” Ms Gartmann said.
