The Wee Waa Rotary Club will build a Community Arts Hub and fund a Cultural Trail as part of the Disaster Resilient: Future Ready (DR:FR) Get Ready NSW Pilot, thanks to a grant of $40,000 from the Foundation for Rural and Regional Renewal (FRRR). Wee Waa is one of three communities in the state, along with North Richmond and Ocean Shores, that is participating in the program to better prepare them for disasters.

10 Oct 2019 Free grantseeker workshops in NSW central-west, Riverina and west to tackle tough times

The Foundation for Rural&Regional Renewal (FRRR) will be holding a series of free grantseeker workshops in late October, so that community groups in drought-affected regions of NSW are best informed to apply for FRRR's Tackling Tough Times Together (TTTT) grant program.

16 Sep 2019 Fifty Small&Vital projects receive Strengthening Rural Communities grants

The Foundation for Rural and Regional Renewal (FRRR), in collaboration with a number of donor partners, is supporting 50 community projects from around Australia with a share of $328,121 through the Strengthening Rural Communities–Small&Vital grants program.

12 Sep 2019 New board members and Patron in Chief further strengthen FRRR

The Foundation for Rural&Regional Renewal (FRRR) is pleased to announce the appointment of two new Board members, Hon Simon Crean and Hon John Sharp AM. These appointments follow the recent retirements of founding Directors Rt Hon Ian Sinclair AC and Bill Kelty AC.Additionally, the Governor-General, His Excellency General the Honourable David Hurley AC DSC (Retd), has accepted the Board's request to act as FRRR's Patron in Chief.

11 Sep 2019 Disaster Resilience and Recovery Fund launched

The Foundation for Rural&Regional Renewal (FRRR) has launched a new, dedicated Disaster Resilience and Recovery Fund that will provide flexible, fit-for-purpose funding to support preparedness and recovery.The Fund will be invested in perpetuity alongside FRRR's corpus, with annual returns available to support locally-led preparedness initiatives and disaster recovery in rural, regional and remote communities.

The Foundation for Rural and Regional Renewal (FRRR) today announced that 17 communities will share $135,516 in grants to pilot one of seven innovative ideas, thanks to the FRRR ABC Heywire Youth Innovation Grants program.

15 Aug 2019 Investing in Rural Community Futures helps NSW communities on the way to a more vibrant future

Community groups in five New South Wales locations will share in $300,000 in Start-Up Grants through the Investing in Rural Community Futures (IRCF) program. The program is a partnership between the Foundation for Rural&Regional Renewal (FRRR) and the Vincent Fairfax Family Foundation (VFFF) focused on helping local community groups increase their capacity.

13 Aug 2019 Grants available to support ageing rural, regional and remote Victorians

Grants up to $40,000 are available now for Victorian community-based, not-for-profit groups in providing programs and activities that support older people in rural and remote communities through the Foundation for Rural&Regional Renewal's Caring for Ageing Rural Australians (CARA) program, which is generously supported by The Ian Rollo Currie Estate Foundation.

23 Jul 2019 FRRR wins Best Small Grant at The Australian Philanthropy Awards

The Foundation for Rural&Regional Renewal was last night recognised by The Australian Philanthropy Awards, winning Best Small Grant Award for the Blackall-Tambo Regional Council's Barcoo Way project.

17 Jul 2019 Support continues ten years on from Black Saturday

Thirty-five community projects that will assist the continued recovery of communities impacted by the Black Saturday Bushfires will receive funding totalling $602,308. The groups are the latest recipients of the Grants for Resilience and Wellness (GR&W) and Community Group Futures (CGF) programs.

13 Jun 2019 Board leadership changes at the Foundation for Rural&Regional Renewal

There are two founding members who have announced their retirement from the FRRR board today. The Rt Hon Ian Sinclair AC will step down from his role as Chairman, having been at the helm since the organisation's inception in 2000. Bill Kelty AC, who served most recently as Chairman of the Finance and Audit Committee, is also retiring, effective immediately.

16 Apr 2019 Youth Innovation Grants open to tackle real issues facing young Australians

Since 2013, the FRRR ABC Heywire Youth Innovation Grants have supported local community groups, including local young people, to tackle real, and at times confronting, issues that are impacting their local area. To date, more than 90 youth-developed projects have been implemented across Australia.

1 Apr 2019 Fire and drought recovery teach lessons in resilience

National Drought Program Manager, Emma Thomas, travelled to south-east Tasmania as part of the Australian Rural Leadership Program which unfortunately experienced devastating bushfires in 2013, as a firestorm tore through Dunalley and the South East, Lake Repulse in the Derwent Valley, and an area south of Bicheno.
